Jan. 8th, 2003 09:38 ammmm Buffy! When's the next new one? Buffy is one of the very few things that will convince me to stay up late these days. I used to be such a night person, but now I'm going with a functional-at-work person, which has really thrown off the insomniac tendencies.
Not that there's anyone here to notice right now, since most of campus is still on winter break, and I hang out in my office working on my budget, surfing, and checking email... Soon I will start bringing my knitting. Today I brought my husband and a deck of cards, so we're going to play euchre with some co-workers for a couple of hours while I do graduation reviews and such.
Choir has started back up. We're singing an arrangement of the words to Frost's 'The Road Not Taken,' and it's a lot prettier than I was expecting it to be (and so much easier to sight-sing than Messiah was). I won't be at the concert, but at least I'll enjoy rehearsals. We have two new altos who can sing lower than the tenors, which is pretty cool. Soprano section was weak, as the other three people who are considered the core of the section were gone, leaving little me who hasn't been singing at all this break. I'll miss my choir neighbor - her baby is due in February, so I'm guessing I won't be sitting next to her for quite some time. Sigh. I was stuck between someone who can't sight-read, and therefore vaguely hums and 'aaahs' along when she figures out a note, and someone who sings very loudly and very flat. Even so, I had fun being back, and hearing the sound of everyone singing together, and working on the Music Man medley, in which I'm the only person who seems to know the show so well that I don't have to look at my music :)
Choir party, date in the big city, trip to Galyan's to hopefully buy an ellipse machine - it'll be a fun filled weekend! That, and lots and lots of knitting, as I'm working on a 20things-type project and have decided to knit the 20 things.
