tunes

teehee. i rejoined columbia house on a whim. here's what they're sending me:

Barry Manilow / Ultimate Manilow
Nickel Creek / Nickel Creek
Original Soundtrack / Vanilla Sky
Carole King / Tapestry (remastered)
Eric Clapton / Clapton Chronicles
Tori Amos / Strange Little Girls
Tori Amos / To Venus and Back
Dwight Yoakam / Under the Covers
k.d. lang / Live By Request
Nanci Griffith / Winter Marquee
Joan Armatrading / Lovers Speak
Phoebe Snow / The Very Best Of
Billy Bragg/Wilco / Mermaid Avenue
Indigo Girls / Retrospective

All new stuff, except the IG, which is to replace my scratched up copy. I don't own any of many of the artists, and thought it'd be fun to have some new people to listen to. Most of what's on my amazon wishlist isn't available through Columbia House, though, so I'm not making too much progress towards those purchases.

Wow -- that was nice of ColumbiaHouse to choose all those nifty CDs for you!

You'll have to burn Manilow for me. He was my dad's favorite, and every now and again, I yearn to hear "Mandy".

That kd lang album is awesome.

That was always my problem. I rounded out my collection with some older stuff during the intro deal with BMG, but the clubs don't have much in the way of independent labels, so I never ordered much after that. Plus, I always got pigeon-holed in the "modern rock" category, then had to send back the featured selection card with "please don't send" checked every month, because to me it looked like they were sending me "teenybopper" music.

I'm a total music snob.
