The
anneball Interview
1. what's your favorite pizza topping?
By itself, pepperoni. In combination, artichoke hearts, chicken and spinach.
2. if you had to pick between scrabble and euchre and could only play one, which would it be and why?
Well, there are many card games similar to euchre that I enjoy, like spades, 500, bid whist (which I need to actually learn), so I'd have to go with Scrabble. Literati is a poor substitute.
3. what's your biggest guilty pleasure?
In terms of life in general, french fries. I am obsessed. In terms of television, Buffy, and in terms of reality tv, America's Top Model.
4. what exactly is your job and how did you come to be doing it? do you wish you could be doing something else and what?
I am an Academic Advisor for science majors at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. That means I talk to students about their academic plans, and I do lots of paperwork that helps them navigate their ways through the school, like evaluating their transfer credits, checking whether their requirements are complete, helping them develop four year plans to graduate on time, drafting letters to get them into professional schools, etc. I wouldn't mind owning a business, but I don't know if I really have the ambition or workaholic gene that you need for that. I'm pretty happy in higher education.
5. what's the best thing you've ever knit? why was it the best? can you recreate it?
My test swatch - the first thing I ever knit, in rainbow variegated Red Heart, because it was the first thing, and it got me hooked. I'm sure I could recreate it, but there would be no real reason to do so... In terms of actual projects, the baby blanket I knitted for my best friend.. I have it linked through this journal somewhere, but I can't find it. I just liked the pattern a lot, and it's the first baby of my friend group, so it's a big deal.
