The short version: I went 8-6, won the class prize ($50), had the highest animal word bingo (CROAKER, 81, for which I won protiles), and according to metagrams.com, will enjoy a 70 point ratings bump.

I realized in going through my sheets when I got home that I'd played HORNETS for 78, and didn't put it on the wall -- damn! It didn't even occur to me at the time. I can't remember what won for our division though.

Anyway, I'm still working on my recap. It's looong.

One of the participants of the Baltimore tourney, Tim Maneth, passed away.

Yeah, I read that on CGP. It made me so incredibly sad to hear it... I didn't know him well, but he seemed like such a dear man. I talked with him on the phone a couple weeks before the tournament (he needed to know what division I was in, and we ended up chatting beyond that), and several times during the tournament this past weekend. I was looking forward to seeing him again; I'm very sad that I won't.
