The week drags along
I had to type "drags" three times, literally. I kept typing "grads."
Today is the deadline for students to add classes. If I am not reasonably busy, I'll be worried.
Scrabble Club Monday: 2-1, with a net spread of +2 (I won two by 9 apiece, lost one by 16). I didn't bingo at all in two games, which is really odd (and sad!) for me. In the other, I found TWITChED and RESTAGe. It was nice to have such close games, though. In the first, I was down 80ish in the middle, and found my second bingo at the end, and was able to play the X in the triple lane (with OXES, I think) for 44. In the second game, I drew neither blank, but still stayed close. In the third, neither blank came out until the last two turns, which basically killed their value, especially since the board was very closed.
I've been going over my bingo stem lists, and I've noticed that the same three or four words get me every time. ORIENTS is one (I always get the other three anagrams, but for whatever reason, not ORIENTS) and I miss ARCSINE and INTEGER, which makes Tim sad, since he's such a mathgeek. I'm also convinced that NOTICES/SECTION should have a third anagram, and Tim likes to let me sit there and think about it for a long time before letting me off the hook and telling me there isn't another (he quizzes me, friendly husband that he is).
I'll be sending in the entry fees for both Philly on 9/26 and Baltimore in October in the next couple of days. I even feel vaguely ready for them.
